Le Soirée

“Tu es finis pour aujourd'hui, Marine?”

            “Oui! À demain!”

Five O’clock on the dot! Wonderful! Parisiennes don’t seem to be that excited about cafés on early spring. Honestly, who would? Being limited to one room in such a lovely day. Le Café Procope is indeed delightful, but on a day like this, nothing compares to the streets of Paris. Là, l’Odéon! Non, not today. Who would I be to waste a lovely evening on the subway? And right on Saint-Germain? Ugh, I sound like a tourist! Ooh, that breeze! Who cares? I’m walking! But, where? Just going home sounds so boring. What’s around here? Why didn’t I just read that stupid book? Wait, I have it with me! Let’s see, let’s see. Lipstick, notebook, wallet, house keys, pens, deodorant … damn it! “I cannot walk around holding a guidebook like this! They’ll all think I’m a tourist.”, why did I have to be so dumb? Doesn’t matter, worst comes to worst and I risk a judgy French look and ask for directions.

This is Saint-Germain and that is Saint-Michel. Oh, I know this! It was on that movie, how’s it called? K- killing Sandra? Yes, oh my God look at that. And the park is just like in the film, but somehow better. The dry brown trees starting to bloom, little pigments of green springing through the branches. How lovely! I’ll write this down, there will absolutely be a scene in here. It’s a perfect location for Lorraine to find peace after the accident. Just words won’t be enough, I’ll need a picture of this place to remember later. But … I left the camera at home!  Why God, why? I guess just a sketch will do.

It’s getting darker. The city lights are being lit. So wonderful! Wish I had my camera with me! What a waste of perfect inspiration. Wow! What is that? It’s huge! Forget that little park, this here is the real deal! Lorraine will definitely rather be here to find peace. How’s it called, L- le Jardin de- Wish I had my glasses! So, traffic light goes red, coming closer and, Le Jardin Du Luxembourg. Hum, funny name. So beautiful, they should advertise it better. Such a perfect place, but no one knows of its existence. Maybe change the name. Luxemb- whatever will not stay in anyone’s mind. Wait a second, wait a second! It’s Killing Zoe! Ha, Killing Sandra, good one Marine.
